As a paramedic, Rocco Pierce is no stranger to making life-and-death decisions and delivering devastating news. Nothing prepared him for a situation quite like this.

What exactly do you do with a letter informing you that your wife is dying of breast cancer when you've never been married?

Crime reporter Mallory Yoshida is used to getting odd fan mail, so why should she pay attention to this guy who wants to talk to her about a mysterious letter?  After all, Mallory is on the verge of a breakthrough in a case she's been following for years. She doesn't have time for distractions.

Obviously, Rocco Pierce didn't get the memo, because he hasn't stopped lobbying her for an in-person meeting. He says it's personal, but how could it be when they've never met?

Rocco needs to deliver the most awful, life-changing news imaginable. Yet, when he meets Mallory, there is an undeniable connection. Even though none of this is his business, Rocco can't seem to step away. He wonders if it was all a bureaucratic failure or simply divine intervention?

After all, it's not like the letter is a matter of life and death — or is it?

As Lady Prudence battles her past and the Marquess of Childers grapples with unexpected feelings, will they be able to find love despite their secrets?

Lady Prudence has a past. Hiding as a wallflower, she is reluctant when her parents urge her to find a match, quite certain that she is undeserving. An unexpected meeting finds her considering a match to a most unscrupulous gentleman, fearing that it is the only chance she has for matrimony… though her eyes continually seek out another gentleman entirely.

Horrified when his dear friend states that he must find a bride to produce the required heir, James, the Marquess of Childers, suggests a match of convenience simply so that both he and Lord Kingshill can return to their roguish ways. Finding Lady Prudence to be the perfect lady for his quest, he quickly makes the arrangements, only to find the lady affecting his own heart in the most confusing manner! Uncertain about his feelings and all the more uncertain about the match, James must choose whether to face the lady and tell her the truth of his heart or let Lord Kingshill wed her instead.
When threats are made and the truth revealed, can Prudence and James still find their way toward each other? Or will whispers and secrets keep them apart?

In the quaint seaside town of Chickadee Cove, Maine, Jeannie Miller dreams of fresh starts and floured hands. Post-divorce and with a spirit eager for change, she’s got her heart set on a bakery, serving up sweetness in her childhood haven. Funds are short, ambitions high, and help comes wearing flannel from the local sawmill.

Jeannie’s plan didn’t include rerouted affection, yet there’s something about her down-to-earth ally that’s as comforting as the familiar coastline. Whispers of romance swirl like autumn leaves, despite Jeannie’s hesitance to reopen her heart. Could the town buzz be onto something?

Between the charm of newfound connection and the echoes of old scars, The Bakery on the Cove is a tale of two seeking solace and finding more. Will a surprise twist and shared histories sour the mix, or can love rise in the most unexpected places?

A best man, a maid of honor, and a matchmaking bride and groom.

I was torn to pieces when Jamie left town and ended things,
even though I knew it wasn’t the last time I would see him.

Jamie is my best friend’s brother and my brother’s best friend.

They're getting married.

Making me the maid of honor, and Jamie the best man.

I know, I know—totally cliché.

It’s not a big deal. I’m an adult, and I’ve gotten over heartbreak before.

Getting over Jamie will be no different.

Except for my meddling family,
and the fact that he told me he missed me every day he was away.

He missed me but didn’t call. Yeah, right.

I can handle this. I’ve got a heart of steel. I’ll be fine.

I just didn’t expect him to show up with a blow torch.
