In the Light of Day is an awesome, second chance romance with a lot of suspense! The characters are personable and believable. This book had me engaged from the beginning and I read straight through. There was no way I could put it down. The suspense is so well written. I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Fire Beach.

Shonda and Deacon had a dark past but they have both changed and she see’s him as her only hope. I don’t know what I would have done in her situation about what happened on her job but I can understand why she didn’t tell Deacon about their son when he was the one who convinced her to end the pregnancy. There were plenty of twists and turns as they dodge the bad guys on their trail not knowing who to trust. Dante was a good kid who rolled with all the changes. I loved the guardian angel.

I have so enjoyed this entire series, it seems each book is better than the last.

I am so glad the author decided to tell Deacon's story... and I thought it was great! I believe the author dealt with potential triggers with care and told a great story. As always, a lot of suspense and a little romance too. While the book can be read as a standalone, I'd recommend starting at the beginning with Fire Games and read the entire series. Characters flow from one book to the other so you will get to know them all. This is one series you'll be glad you took the time to read.
