Cory has just received the worst news possible for a single dad in the military-deployment in 30 days. He thought he would get a break with his wife’s recent death. Heidi is regretting her appearance on a reality dating show-the weirdos showing up to ask for a date are making her swear off men. With no one else to turn to, he remembered Heidi (and seeing her on the show) and their great friendship from high school and the marriage pact they made. Would it be too weird to ask her for a marriage of convenience so she could take care of his daughter while he’s gone, because his heart isn’t ready for anything more. Or is it?

Lorana tells a great story about dilemmas many of our military have. It focuses on the relationship and not the actual war experience. It is a wonderful sweet story that has you sighing, and the welcome home scene/kiss is amazing.

I just finished listening to an audio of this book and it’s very well done. Lorana narrated herself and she put just the right emotions into it.

Such a sweet story! Cory and Heidi knew each other in high school. Never dated but were each other's BFFs. Suddenly years have gone by and their lives intersect once again. Heidi has found a little fame after being on a dating reality show - and not in a good way! All her dates after the show are complete duds! Cory comes back into her life because he's in the Army and is a single father and about to be deployed but needs help with his daughter, who is adorable! This is an issue that faces many of our military people and I appreciated the way the author handled this subject. Our military faces huge sacrifices! It was a great story and I loved the characters. A truly sweet book!

I really like the cover of this book because it helped me to picture Heidi. I also liked that the story was a sweet and clean romance about two best friends from high school who reconnected ten years later when Cory was going to be deployed. He sought Heidi out because he needed a marriage of convenience so his little girl, Bella would have someone to take care of her while he was gone. I especially liked how faith and seeking God was so important to both Heidi and Cory. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
